Big Bass Bonanza

Big Bass Bonanza is one of those games you install for five minutes and look up an hour later. The whole loop is built around casting a line, watching the water, and reeling in whatever shows up, with cheerful animations and a soundtrack that stays out of the way. It's undemanding in the best sense.

Controls are the highlight. A single tap casts, and you drag to fight the fish, feeling the tension shift as it tugs. It works entirely one-handed, which is exactly what you want for a game you'll open on a train. The tutorial is short and never gets in the way.

Performance is smooth even on my older test phone, and battery drain stayed reasonable across sessions. There's no fussy settings menu, but the option to trim the ambient effects helped keep things cool during longer stretches. It won't change your life, but it's a genuinely relaxing pick.
